Can you feel it? The excitement? The activity going on in our streets? What an exciting time to be in Owen Sound, and the beautiful counties of Grey and Bruce. Although it is certainly on every OHL fan, player, and organizations mind, the excitement I am talking about is not just from the incredible sweep our beloved Owen Sound Attack just performed on the London Knights. The excitement I am referring to is a little more real estate related, but I am not just talking about the real estate market. This isn’t about the homes for sale, nor the cottages, or farms for sale in our region. This is about the homes that aren’t even built, or renovated yet. Have you noticed the number of foundations that are being built upon, or the homes with driveways filled with contractor vehicles? Have you seen our downtown business changing into more and more new names, offering a greater variety of services and retail? Have you read the endless articles discussing the growth our home towns are experiencing? Take Owen Sound for example. The city saw an issuance of 91 new build permits! Our commercial sector has show growth of 4.1%, and we recently just completed a job fair with over 90 employers searching for in excess of 1000 jobs in a marketplace with a 3.8% unemployment rate.
Our beautiful town, shoreline, amenities, and lifestyle are becoming the envy of our out-of-county neighbours. They are finally taking note and joining us in our humble abode. Although the hockey is exhilarating to watch, our team at Brand Realty could not be more excited about that state of our town, and the bright future that lies just paces ahead of us.
