It’s election day, our chance to have a voice and affect change. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like our single vote will make much of a difference but every vote truly does count toward electing the best representatives for our community. I love that this year we get to use the technology available and vote online. No more lineups, little booths and pencils marking an “X” inside the circle. It seems like an obvious step vote online and one that I’m sure will be quickly embraced and soon become the norm for all elections. I voted this morning from my home office and was able to complete the task in a matter of minutes. However, the real time in the whole process is the time we take to get to know our candidates. Some of them are friends and colleagues; but many are strangers that feel strongly enough about our community to put themselves out there and take a stand. They are to be applauded for their dedication and prospective commitment to serving our city. It’s often a thankless job, but a necessary one to keep us moving forward.
We are so fortunate to live in a place where we actually get to have a voice - so please, everyone, get out and VOTE
