Shorthanded...Hits all the goals..

**Warning** There are no spoilers in this blog!!

Like many of you, from time to time, I too, like to indulge myself with the finer things life has to offer. But as with most anything, it’s the perspective that defines exactly what those would be. To say I am a connoisseur of culture and decadence, would (at minimum) be a gross exaggeration of my reality. For those that know me, indulgence in the simpler things is much more my style. So imagine my excitement and shear enthusiasm when two things about which I am truly passionate are brought together. As purveyors to some of the area finest local entertainment, The Owen Sound Little Theatre (and the theatre gods themselves), have taken it upon themselves to bring the extraordinary sport of hockey (in my humble opinion) to our local stage through it’s production of the Micheal Grant comedy screenplay, Shorthanded. This my friends, is what I would consider to be indulgence in the truest form. In a way that resonates with us all, this group takes us on its poignant, and hilariously relatable journey as they look back over over the years on and off the ice as they now see their chance at redemption. Taking in the show last night, I can only once again say kudos to all involved with this fabulous production. From the producers to the local talent, you have once again done an exceptional job in bringing these characters to life in a lively entertaining way that connects with us all. Winner of the Playwright Guild of Canada’s Best New Comedy Award, the show continues Feb 2nd, 6th, and 9th at The Roxy Theatre, right here in Owen Sound.

I know I’ve said it before, but to have the calibre of community theatre we have here is truly a local treasure. I am so proud to be a small part of supporting this group as they continue throughout the season with their 58th annual playbill. I’ll be giving away a few tickets to this one, so check us out on Facebook.

Again, thank you to all for your ongoing support of the Owen Sound Little Theatre company, and I look forward to seeing you at the Roxy.
