We're having a yarn tasting in the store Saturday Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We'll have samples of the fabulous garments you can make with yarns like Bliss, Motley, Crisp and Chill. Model Home Open House!

Our new model home is now completed!!!! We are hosting an open house to showcase the new Providence model home, designed and built by Reid’s Heritage Homes. Located right on Cobble Beach Drive, this stunning home features a three car garage, beautiful features and finishes with open concept living.
Everyone who comes out will be entered into a draw to win some amazing door prizes!

Charity BBQ

It's time to fire up the BBQ again. Stop by Fox Harley-Davidson for a BBQ put on by the Owen Sound Lions Club. All proceeds will be going to the Lions Club to help them help our community.

157th Emancipation Festival

- 9:30 a.m. - Ancestors' Breakfast - Blaine, Nathan, Randy and a host of volunteers are going to whip up some delicious pancakes & sausages to be served with lots of strong coffee to start off your day.
-10:30 a.m. - Town Crier Bruce Kruger will officially welcome everyone to join him as he delivers another stirring opening speech. He will be joined by various dignitaries and guests including Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard, Peter Lemon, Gael Jackson & the Millers N Thyme, Bonita Johnson DeMatteis (Black Eyed Peas & Races) and many more.
- Picnic & Festival Jam - 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Kids' games & races; Story Time with Senator Bernard - "R is for Reparations"; a variety of vendors; raffle; food by Angie's Place Caribbean Eatery. Festival Jam featuring Harrison Kennedy, local favourites the Trevor MacKenzie Band with special guest Bobby Dean Blackburn.

Connecting the Dots Film Screening

In celebration of Emancipation Day, and in recognition of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent, Black History Ottawa’s Connecting the Dots project will be hosting a documentary screening and national community conversation in Owen Sound for the southwestern Ontario communities.

TD Harbour Nights Concert Series

Concerts take place at the beautiful inner-harbour behind Owen Sound's Visitor Centre. Please bring your lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the occasion. In the event of rain, the concert may be moved indoors to the Owen Sound Legion auditorium, at 1450 2nd Avenue West. There is no admission charge for Harbour Nights concerts, although donations are gratefully accepted.

Come see where all that wonderful food comes from. Join Ayse Akoner, Jens and Cengiz Eller and a wonderful, international group of interns, WWOOFers and volunteers for a tour of Marvellous Edibles Farm, Owen Sound.
As always, a warm welcome awaits our friends and supporters. Tour the farm, meet the animals and sample some tasty goodies, some from Ayse’s wood burning oven and Jens’ giant smoker.

Join us at the Billy Bishop Home and Museum on August 7th at 2pm for a Victorian Dessert Tea; desserts include scones, jam, cream and other sweet treats provided by the Best Western Inn. The tea served is our special blend of black tea, orange, maple, and rose called "Billy's Blend"; perfect for a summer afternoon!
This tea will feature a talk on local wine and food pairings as well as live music from local string ensemble, Rasin Dust.
Seats are limited and reservations are required. To reserve a seat, please visit the Billy Bishop Home and Museum located at 948 3Rd Avenue West in Owen Sound.
