We all know that the beginnings of a new year marks new hope. The inevitable resolutions made with ambitions in anticipation of what lies ahead. But what of the year that has been? As we enter this Christmas season, let us take a moment to reflect and evaluate what was achieved. In what can only be described as a surreal moment in time, 2020 has proven that taken from perspective, things really do look different, and time truly is relative.
Despite the challenges faced, we have come together in ways that are reminiscent of generations past. We witnessed as people stepped up, giving what they had and reaching out to support neighbours throughout their community. We watched as more time spent at home broadened our horizons, how the concept of value became personal, and learned to appreciate what we have.
In a world that just got smaller, take the time to treasure what was gained and remember to not rush too quickly in efforts of returning to what was lost.
